Both named to M Cates (Edward Michael Cates was born in 1899). Typical Square Rig dark blue tunic to a RN rating with an internal pocket, RNVR arm title and crossed signallers flags (four small moth holes). Dark blue bell bottom trousers also named to M Cates with more extensive mothing to the front. Size 32 inch chest and 28 inch waist.
