WW1 BRITISH OTHER RANKS ‘COR BLIMEY’ TRENCH CAP

An original, rare and iconic WW1 British Army Trench cap better known as a ‘COR BLIMEY’. Made from heavy serge with padded wool lining ,shirt like material, complete with neck curtain and leather chin strap. The lining is stitched in a very distinctive circular pattern unique to this style of other ranks cap.
In very good condition free from moth or damage. The peak was manufactured with a soft texture, not the stiff variety of the time or the later stitched pattern. The neck curtain unfolds and the top strap becomes a chin strap. Very few Gor Blimeys have survived.
