WW1 Turkish leather ammunition belt. As worn at Gallipoli and elsewhere. Consists of a waist worn leather belt of fourteen leather pouches and two shoulder cross straps. Each pouch holds three bullets giving a total of 42 rounds carried. Each pouch is stamped with a Turkish crescent and Ottoman writing. All straps, buckles and pouches are complete and intact. (minor period repairs in a few places ). A rare and iconic item.
