WW1 RFC Thigh Length Pair of 'Fug' Boots

A very rare and desirable pair of RFC flying cold weather thigh length 'Fug' boots. As first worn by British fighter ace Lanoe Hawker and adopted by all flying crew soon after. The sheepskin lined leather boots are marked 6 (size) on the sole. There is a WD stamp on the leather strap where it secures to a waist belt. Overall condition is very good for age and boots appear to have been worn very little.
Faults are:
1. Small piece of leather 40mm x 40mm missing to the very top of one boot (see photo)
2. A little loss of interior sheepskin lining where handled,
