The Houghton Map board was used by both RFC Crews and British Cavalry Officers during WW1. Designed to be used with either a map or plain paper, the rollers on each side allowing either to be rolled in each direction for navigation or observation purposes.
The front has a compass and two scales whilst on the reverse an inclinometer sits beneath a Perspex cover.
Dated 1915 and with a WD arrow, this example is in very good condition . Lacks leather wrist strap.
