RFC Officers Former Cuff Rank Khaki Service Dress Tunic. Worn by an officer of the Dorset Regiment who transferred to the RFC. Remains of cuff rank stitching can still be seen. Major's crown embroidered shoulder strap badges. No traces of cloth or metal pips ever worn. Very nice late war RAF pilots wings and Dorset Regiments 'Marabout' collar badges. Early pattern tunic with integral cloth belt and ticket pocket. (not the 1918 pattern tunic) Medium weight gabardine with leather football type buttons. In good overall condition for its age (Light wear and small scattered moth). Tailors label missing but nice date stamp to sleeve A over 1916. (Manufactured for the War Department and not private purchase)
