WW1 Royal Engineers British Other Ranks Tunic & Trench Cap to one man.

SOLD

Code: 10586

WW1 Royal Engineers named 1902 Tunic and Trench Cap to Sapper John Robinson 495244. Rare to find a matching named tunic and cap.
Comprising:
a) 1902 Other Rank's Tunic with stand and fall collar with two pleats under each collar, complete with brass general service buttons and RE shoulder titles. Two good conduct chevrons and three blue overseas service stripes. (1916 - 1918)
Interior with WD issue stamp and traces of the original paper label. Regimental Number is clearly written on the reverse of one pocket along with his initials JTR which matches exactly that on his trench cap.
There are a few small wear holes on the tunic (The worst is on the lower sleeve..see photo) however these do not affect the overall appearance which is an honest trench worn tunic.
b) 1917 pattern wool trench cap complete with brass RE cap badge and thin leather chin strap. Cap is free from moth. Remains of manufacturers stamp to oilskin liner (oilskin has lost half of its black coating through wear)
