Unusual trench cap manufactured in cotton Khaki Drill. No date or manufacturers mark (other than 66) Has little wear. Cap badge to the Bedfordshire Regiment. Stitched peak, unfaded cotton. No evidence of buttons or chin strap ever attached. I assume it was produced for soldiers serving in Egypt , Salonica and Palestine later in the war.
