An unusual cast metal souvenir tray of fighting on the Alsace border. The design features French Alpine Chasseurs nicknamed the 'Blue Devils' on account of their large blue berets. A heavy machine gun is being fired upon German positions. Stamped in the corner Carlier. (Emile Carlier 1849 - 1927) produced a number of patriotic sculptures during WW1. Tray measures 120mm x 74mm (5 x 3 inches)
