1902 PATTERN SIMPLIFIED BRITISH WW1 SERVICE DRESS TUNIC 1915 DATED. A very rare economy / simplified WW1 British tunic to a corporal of the 8th battalion Border Regiment (25th Division). Complete with all brass general service buttons, two darts (pleats) under each collar and large unpleated chest pockets. Border Regiment slip on shoulder titles and 8th battalion battle insignia to the back and upper arms. Made from an economy shoddy type material with scattered moth holes (see photographs). 1915 dated paper label manufactured by Rowntree & Sons of Manchester. War Department stamp 3 over W D over L.
